Perhaps you do not need it but the guy next to you need it ;)

A summary from John Maxwell 1994 sermon.

1. RUN - be a real life coward. The bible tells us to "FLEE from sexual immorality". Do not put yourself in a position to see how good you can resist it. Do not be a macho. Read Joseph's story. Do not put your hand in the cookie jar and say you are trying to resist the temptation from the cookie. Get your hand out from the jar.

2. Accept responsibilities - do not stay in the darkness of denial. Remember partial obedience is disobedience.

5 . Be on guard. Some tips can be 

• Do not travel by yourself.
• Call your spouse every night when you are away. Talk about kids, work and that you love each other.

6. Determine your decision. Do not depends of your feeling but make a decision to obey God. A grandchild ask the grandfather "You do not have so many sexual dieseases around your time. What did you use for safe sex?" The grandfather replied, "Wedding ring."

7. Realise that sexual sins assault the body of Jesus Christ. Paul wrote our body is the body of Christ. Do we want to prostitue the body of Christ?

8. Recognise the consequences of sexual sins. Proverbs 6

 23 For these commands are a lamp,
       this teaching is a light,
       and the corrections of discipline
       are the way to life,

 24 keeping you from the immoral woman,
       from the smooth tongue of the wayward wife.

 25 Do not lust in your heart after her beauty
       or let her captivate you with her eyes,

 26 for the prostitute reduces you to a loaf of bread,
       and the adulteress preys upon your very life.

 27 Can a man scoop fire into his lap
       without his clothes being burned?

 28 Can a man walk on hot coals
       without his feet being scorched?

 29 So is he who sleeps with another man's wife;
       no one who touches her will go unpunished.

 30 Men do not despise a thief if he steals
       to satisfy his hunger when he is starving.

 31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold,
       though it costs him all the wealth of his house.

 32 But a man who commits adultery lacks judgment;
       whoever does so destroys himself.

 33 Blows and disgrace are his lot,
       and his shame will never be wiped away;

 34 for jealousy arouses a husband's fury,
       and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.

 35 He will not accept any compensation;
       he will refuse the bribe, however great it is.

9. Think about your children. Make a decision to be faithful. When the father sins it usually pass on to the next generation. Jacob decieves Isaac as how Isaac decieves other people, Soloman was not faithful as how David commits aduletary with Bathsheba. Do not be a stumbling block to your children, give your children the foundation to build a solid Christian home. 

10.  Get a new definition of success. Success is having those closes to you, love and respect you.
