I am reading through a published paper of mine to draw the boundaries on what I should write and what I should keep clear for the next paper. However, as I read through this published paper of mine is of shock and yeah "paiseh". I have tables wrongly referred and part of the numbers in the tables are actually wrong. Good thing this does not impact the conclusion that I draw... so I don't have to submit a correction request... but this is so frustrating and I am so dissapointed on me.
I checked through my old revision and realised that the tables were in the beginning correctly referenced. However, the auto table numbering in my word document got screwed up I changed the layout... and did not print it out for reading!!!. I did remember reading it on my computer screen though. This is so careless and so embarassing... gosh... no point regretting.
Never submit your document unless you print it out and read it from a paper. I guess when you read on the screen, especially a document you read over and over again, you might just scroll down (or at least I do that). However, on printed paper you can compare different pages at a go. One thing I learnt through writing my PhD dissertation is to be more careful and now I learnt one more lesson. An embarassing lesson...with my name on it for a long long time.
