Faith and Miracle (4)
Family members and closed friends are being informed of the news. Gloria's husband took over most of the housework, laundry and cooking. Gloria's body is going through lots of adjustment. Her breast swell, her tummy cramps occasionally, she is more easily tired, needs to lay in bed ( and sleeps a lot) and her body rejects gas drink. Gloria's husband would put his hand on her tummy every morning and night to say hello to little Isaac. It is such a joy to know that a living being is in Gloria's womb. Both Gloria and her husband give thanks to God daily for little Isaac and this miracle that happened.
Gloria hoped that the critical three months period would pass by soon, so that the pregnancy would be more secure. Two weeks passed in a blink of eye and it is time for the next medical checkup. They were the last in queue. A lady doctor first did an ultrasound on Gloria. She looked at Gloria's maternity record and asked when is the baby due. She later called Gloria's gynaecologist into the room. Gloria's gynaecologist looked at the monitor and was speechless. The moments of silent was terrifying. Gloria asked "What did you see?" and the gynaecologist answered "There is no heart beat and this is not a good sign. Get dressed and we would talk about it."
Gloria and her husband was dumbfounded by the turn of events. The gynaecologist explained that heartbeat should be visible and strong during this stage of the pregnancy. The gynaecologist was estimating Gloria to be in her 6 or 7 weeks. The gynaecologist was very sorry and sympathetic that the pregnancy has to end this was. Gloria was adviced to do a D&C. Gloria told the doctor "We have to do what we need to do, this pregnancy is a miracle and God has His own plan. However, Monday is too soon. We need some time to think about it."
Both Gloria and her husband are lost and do not know what to do. Gloria started to look for more information in the Internet. She found that there are some cases where the doctor also adviced a D&C but two weeks later there were heart beat. This gave comfort to them. They continued to pray that another miracle would happen. Gloria's husband was very optimistic and said that perhaps there would be another miracle that the doctor would come to know God personally. Gloria hoped this would also be true, difficult as it may be they tried to keep their hopes high and requested for their friends and family to pray for them that they would know and convince on what is the next step.
Would there be a miracle? That you would know in Faith and Miracle (5).
