Nanjing Part 3
After the official dinner we left for the factory to make sure that our slides and presentations would turn out well on the screen. We took a walk back to the hotel after the preparation and I went directly to my room to continue learning my terms. Slept at about 2 am. It was slightly more difficult to wake up the next morning. My presentation is in the afternoon. It was an advantage as I would have enough time to be "immersed" in the terms, slangs and intonations. The presentation went smoothly. The best part was the participants told me that they can understand my presentation without any problem. Very soon it is time to leave the factory for the hotel and again within less than an hour we need to be ready for the evening program.

SzeChuan's change mask show
The evening program was really enjoyable. They prepared acrobatics acts, magic show, fashion show, traditional sze-chuan "mask changing show" and it ended with the classical "Peng You" song. We participated as volunteers in the magic and acrobatic shows and was rewarded with all sorts of soft toys. The evening was spent chatting in the lobby till 11:30pm and again I continued the evening with terms memorization for tomorrow's presentation.

Time flies and it is soon Friday. Today I would present my last presentation. The food here in the canteen with the food tray reminds me of home. Company food tray but with home cook food. I would miss the food here. The past few days had been nice getting to know new people and listening to different business talks (yeah still listening cause I got nothing much to talk). Miss Chu gave us a guided factory tour after lunch and then it was the gift presentation ceremony for "Explore" competition.

Participants and soft toys
Again one hour break before dinner. The initial plan was to have at least 30 minutes for shopping in the town. However, very much like home we are stuck in the jam! One very interesting experience was we had a confused mini bus. It keeps thinking that it is a bicycle and keeps using the bicycle lane! Not only that, it also used the opposite lane! That was really an exciting ride to town. Anyway, we do not have time for shopping as dinner appointment is at 6pm. The dinner for tonight is in a Cantonese restaurant. I believe it should be a popular restaurant as it was pretty packed. The dinner was interesting and nice. It was a good dinner company. I left my camera in the restaurant and did not notice it until we were on our way back to the hotel. The restaurant called Mr.Du and informed him that a guest left the camera. It was good that Mr. Ma stays not far from the restaurant, he picked it up for me and passed it to me in the hotel later that evening.

The last evening in Nanjing was again spent chatting with presenters and organizing committees. Goodbyes was finally said at about 12am and to back to the room for packing. (** yeah and I realised that I forgot my traveller's plug and the fan Mr. Hengsbach bought for the presenters).

Did not really have time to look around Nanjing town but I felt at home with the people and the food. You can count on me to visit Nanjing again.

Reached Kassel safely at 9:45pm, 29th September 2006

PS: Special thanks to LiFang, my husband and ZiYang who helped me with my presentation. Internet is really wonderful as I can still seek their advice and opinion all the way from Nanjing!
