A Saturday afternoon

Today is Saturday... other than telling that I cooked rendang I don't think there are anything more that's interesting.

Today is Saturday. Yesterday was a good day. Today is also a good day but I am pretty bored.

What is good ??? And how do we define good? Having clothes to wear? Having a shelter over your head? Not having to worry about decisions that will influence the whole world? Don't have to worry about where the next meal is coming from? Don't have to worry that your relationship is going down the drain? What is good? I don't know. I think all in all people would give you realtive answer. I think I am really bored to be thinking of all this? Or was it that my philosophical side demanding some attention??

Anyway... this is not what I planned to discuss. Let me tell you what I cooked yesterday.. perhaps that's something more interesting. I cooked nasi lemak with chicken rendang... well I think on Thursday... not yesterday.

I think it turned out quite good... well nobody complained and some one actually praised me for the beef rendang that I cooked today ( I had too much grany the chicken rendang, so I made beef rendang today).

I used more onions, ginger and lemon grass since I don't have coconut rustle (is that the right word for kerisik?) - but trust me coconut rustle does wonder :P

Here's the recipe:

3 bombay onions
garlic
1inch ginger
(blend all these three items)
2 spoons of curry powder
chillis - blended
150ml coconut milk
6chicken drumstick and thigh (fried briefly in oil)
2 tomatoes sliced
3-6 spoons of coconut rustle
salt and sugar to taste

stir fry the blended ingredients. When it's golden brown - in my case I was lazy to wait for it to turn to golden brown, put in the chilli. Stir till the chilli fragant is in the air, then add 2 spoons of curry powder and coconut milk. Stir and then add the chicken and tomato. When it's boiling add the coconut rustle. How much depending on how dry you prefer the rendang to be. In the process don't forget salt and sugar to taste.

Okie.. I think that's all for today. If u have too much gravy then keep it for the next time :P
