Monday Blues
Submitted by tzeying on Mon, 2007-11-12 09:29
Sitting in front of the computer, reading the email from my prof, recieving the news that my draft for paper is too weak and thinking hard how I should rewrite it... and my brain not responding, no new ideas, not knowing how to structure the information that I have... Monday blues... simply Monday blues...

some thoughts on personal loans
Submitted by sianlun on Tue, 2007-09-18 14:04
Ever heard of personal loans? Or how about secured loans? I've been asked to talk about what i think about them. I think we are not foreign to loans nowadays. No one can right away start working and can afford everything he needs. This is where loans come in handy. It might not be difficult to be offered loans. go to your nearby shopping complexes, or visit your favourite eating places, you might see stalls and people promoting loans with very attactive conditions. Heck, you might even see online loans offers being sent around in the Internet.
I do think things have become a little too easy. That means, money are given out with little information and advice to those who applied for it. As long as you get it from a valid institution you will not end up with loan sharks and ah longs :) But again, they are concerned with profits - they want to help you to help themselves. If there is no good returns, banks and credit institutions will not survive :) So they will look forward for you to pay back slowly, while earning interests as you pay them back.
Some call this convenience at little costs. I do agree with this, though i also think we do not need them necessarily. As long as you can afford something, and need it, you should just pay cash instead of loan. Unless in a long run you see financial benefits in paying through loans, else there would not be a need to pay more than the price of the things you buy. At times loan interests are really attactive - imagine only 1% effective for a personal loan... you might not even feel much when the ammount is not much.
do evaluate and plan ahead. i believe a good planning and having moderation in mind will reduce risks. You can of course consult people or elderly people who have gone through the path before making any decision.

Reaching a goal
Submitted by sianlun on Fri, 2007-08-17 11:56
it had been like 4 months since i started writing paid posts. It might be partly due to the money, but also a test to see how far i can go. Today i can say it is a nice interesting 4 months doing it, because i have reached a goal - 50 paid posts and 500USD earned - averagely 10USD a post. Not too bad right? But besides heading for the pocket money, it is also a challenge on principles and faith - am i losing my soul for something else? i think it is a pure principle questsion. I've notice sometimes i get really distracted thinking of what to write in between paid posts, because some great opportunities are there waiting to be snatched. But i think i don't insist of writing everyday - it can be time consuming actually.
Anyway, if you are thinking of also making some bucks out of your blog, do try PPP out. click on the payperpost affiliate button at the left hand side and join PPP. Who knows it might be a nice source of pocket money for you. Some are already turning pro doing this. But never loose your direction in your passion for blogging. I never want to turn my blogs into "money engine" and offer no contents...
as a mark of reaching the 50 and 500, i decide to write the next 5 paid posts and will donate the money for people who needs it. Do stay tune and see how much it would be.
Thanks for the visits and support, if you are there with me all the while.
