Two things I ask of you, O Lord

My thoughts are a little funny today. Started thinking about life is so temporal - Matt 16:26 "What if a man gain the whole world but loses His soul?". Then, I started thinking about what is the purpose of rat race - Soloman a wise king was laid in his grave at the end of the day.

Perhaps all these thoughts are due to work pressure. The work that I dread to tackle now is not difficult but the language is a challenge. How I hope the whole thing is in English. Anyhow, I thank God for His words that keeps me focused on what is important. Work still needs to be done but it is not my life ...

Read this during quiet time today.

Proverbs 30

7 "Two things I ask of you, O LORD;
do not refuse me before I die:

8 Keep falsehood and lies far from me;
give me neither poverty nor riches,
but give me only my daily bread.

9 Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you
and say, 'Who is the LORD ?'
Or I may become poor and steal,
and so dishonor the name of my God.
